As well as being an established conductor, Philippa is also a talented multi-instrumentalist, having studied piano, clarinet, saxophone, percussion and church organ. She has a First Class honours degree in music and currently teaches music to 4-11 year olds at a primary school in Kidderminster. She has performed in numerous ensembles in venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. She has also taken part in concert tours of America, Canada, Australia and Holland. She joined C.H.M.V.C. in 1997 as accompanist and was appointed Musical Director in February 1998. Cynthia Partridge L.R.A.M, A.B.S.M.
Cynthia studied piano and voice at the Birmingham Conservatoire which was then called the Birmingham Institute. She was chosen to play the Concerto in the annual concert at the Birmingham Town Hall and also won the prize of the year for piano accompanying. Cynthia was a music specialist in the schools and now in her retirement teaches piano from home, where she and her pupils give concerts from time to time using two pianos, which proves to be a great favourite. Cynthia also joined us in February 1998 and has been a wonderful asset to the choir ever since. Cynthia also trains our Barbershop style group, the Cradley Eight and all our soloists.
